Hello and welcome!
If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance you’re a fellow healthcare provider, or you love someone who is.
My name is Annie, and the story behind Mrs. Nurse Medic started long before the patches and designs you see here today.
My path into healthcare wasn’t a straight line. Before medicine, I worked in design and advertising, helping businesses build logos and branding, I loved it but I felt like something was missing from my life, so I decided to pursue something different, a career where the work mattered in a different way.
That decision led me to Emergency Medical Services, where I spent over a decade working on the ambulance. EMS teaches you how to stay calm in chaos, think quickly under pressure, and care for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Those lessons stay with you forever.
While working in EMS, I was honored to receive the Star of Life Award, a recognition nominated by my peers. It meant a great deal to me because it came from the people who truly understand the responsibility and challenges of working in emergency medicine.
EMS will always be the foundation of who I am as a healthcare provider.
Much of EMS life happens between calls, charting in the passenger seat, preparing or on the way to the next dispatch, and always staying ready for whatever comes next.
It’s unpredictable, exhausting, and incredibly meaningful work.
While working on the ambulance, I decided to continue my education and become a Registered Nurse. I attended nursing school while still working EMS, and as a Medic in the ER through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the most challenging times modern healthcare has faced. During that time, many of us continued showing up to work each day not fully knowing what we would encounter, but understanding that our communities needed us.

I would like to take a moment to recognize the co-workers, friends, and family members who were lost during that time. Their dedication to caring for others, even in the face of uncertainty and personal risk, deserves to be remembered.
Healthcare providers across the world gave everything they had to serve their patients and their communities. Some paid the ultimate price.
To those who stood beside us and to those we lost along the way, this space is offered with deep respect and humble gratitude for the service they gave until the very end.
They will not be forgotten.

Those years strengthened my respect for healthcare providers everywhere and reinforced why I chose this profession.
I began my nursing career in Labor & Delivery, where I developed a deep respect for maternal and newborn care.
After some time, I briefly worked in home health before transitioning back into the Emergency Room.
As fate would have it, my former L&D manager invited me back into maternal-child care, this time I wanted to build on my knowledge of catching babies in L&D, and felt ready to learn all about the precious babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She openly accepted me into that opportunity and I am incredibly grateful for it.
About a year into working in NICU nursing, life brought me an experience that changed everything. My son was born at 26 weeks gestation after an emergency placental abruption that required an immediate C-section. Because of my experience in Labor & Delivery, I recognized the emergency I was experiencing and made it to the ER desk just as my water ruptured.
He spent 88 days in the NICU.
Even with my knowledge as a NICU nurse, the journey of being a NICU mom was incredibly hard. But it also deepened my appreciation for the compassion, dedication, and skill of the healthcare teams who care for these tiny patients every day.
Today, he is thriving. He’ll be two years old this July, and I could not be more grateful for his health and the incredible team that helped care for him when he needed it most.
Behind the Mrs. Nurse Medic brand is a life filled with family, support, and the people who made this journey possible.
Throughout my career, I realized something interesting: there were very few designs that truly represented dual-licensed providers or the unique paths healthcare workers take.
As someone who has worked in both pre-hospital EMS and hospital medicine, I wanted to create symbols that celebrate those journeys.
Many of the designs you’ll find here are inspired by medical history, symbolism, mythology, and the shared experiences of healthcare providers. Some represent professional pride, while others capture the humor that helps us get through long shifts.
Mrs. Nurse Medic exists to celebrate the people who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
Whether you’re a medic, nurse, respiratory therapist, firefighter, or another healthcare professional, I hope you find something here that resonates with your journey.
Thank you for taking the time to visit.
With Great Respect,
